I was going to say Jerry Lee Lewis, but I was too slow...
And so it will be Sam Cooke's Live At The Harlem Square Club then. Brilliant, and i really don't like live albums. The Smiths' Rank is not bad either.

Jerry Lee Lewis, Live at the Star Club is some energetic, piano-banging rock-n-roll that will make you sweat all over.

Live at Leeds by The Who, No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith by Motorhead and Live at the Cafe Au Go Go/Soledad Prison by John Lee Hooker are the only ones I have. The Motorhead one was on my chart for a really long time(I recently swapped it out for Ace of Spades), but I considered the JLH album for a long time. The way I see it, it's a preformance of the songs, and not just taking the "good" stuff, which makes it a cohesive album, which makes it perfectly valid.

I find HAARP more exciting than the Muse studio albums (which I also like) and just added it to my chart earlier today. Another 21st century live album which I really like is My Morning Jacket's Okonokos.

I know I had Rage Against the Machine's Live at Olympic Stadium on my chart for awhile, but they really are just so much better live and it was nice just being able to hear most of their good stuff (compilation). I suppose if a band is noticeably better live than in the studio than add the live album... or Neil Young recorded new songs live (Rust Never Sleeps) and tinkered with them in the studio...

In my opinion the setlist would be the biggest factor when buying one. Especially if it has songs a band don't play no more

Been listening to a few live albums lately and wondered what the general concensus was on live albums in user-submitted charts.

HAARP by Muse and Entreat by The Cure are top live albums for me but I've never thought of adding them to my overall chart. I have seen other people have live albums in their chart but for me, it's like compilations, adding those to your overall. It seems out of place.

So what are the views of the people?
