I didn't nominate joannajewsom so much for his forum personality as much as his taste and influence on others taste across the site. Back in 2009 you had a couple of Scaruffi heads flying under the radar but a lot of the most vocal forum users had charts occupied with pretty typical fare you could find on the RS500. joannajewsom, together with The Gollux and a couple others, seemed to bring the weirder stuff into the spotlight on BEA. At that time, if your chart wasn't filled with RS classics, you got a bad rating, with the exception of a couple handfuls of users; obviously, now there seems to be a stigma against charts filled with classics. I think joannajewsom was a catalyst for that change, whether it's for better or worse; either way, it's ultimately helped bring more diversity to my ears.

joannajewsom was an argumentative brat, much like what I became. I'm petulant and annoying, I know that, but I also have provided some great recs to BEArs and I think I can occasionally provide an insightful view on topics in the music section. Imagine joannajewsom as a proto-me.

That being said, DLGGLD is a great guy and I'd be gutted if he didn't advance. I just wanted to give you all some perspective on joannajewsom.

That thread was two years before I even started posting here, crazy. JJ has never posted regularly as long as I've been here either. Yeah JJ owns Naples in that thread but reading a ten page argument with Naples is never actually that fun, struggling to link that thread with why people here seem to revere him so much.

Was always gonna go with my boy DLG anyway so no matter.

joannajewsom has posted 3 times in the last 3 years. And in the referenced thread, she summarizes by saying what a piece of shit it is and why did she waste her time posting on it. I'm not voting for someone I've never had a moment of interraction with, and I actually find it funny that people who never were around when she was would vote for her over someone they interract with every day.

And DLGGLD, despite having what may be the weakest user name on the site, has things to say, is pretty smart, and more than anything else, is actually HERE.
