Yeah, I really hate hidden tracks.

Hidden tracks were the worst part of CDs in the 90s. It's like as soon as Nirvana did it on Nevermind then EVERYONE had to have a hidden track.

If two songs blend right into each other (like "Two-Headed Boy" into "The Fool" or "The Happiest Days of Our Lives" into "Another Brick in the Wall pt. 2") then obviously silence is bad, but if one song doesn't blend directly into the next, then it makes sense to have a bit of silence, but sometimes there's too much silence. And then there's a whole different debate about the lacuna (purposeful silence, like on "Motion Picture Soundtrack" on Kid A). The use of lacunae annoys me, but I understand that it's a thing that artists sometimes like to do.

I voted for part of the music, but I think it's somewhere between part of the music and breaktime for next masterpiece.

It depends on the album. If it's a concept album, I'm fine with two songs going into one, hence me saying "sometimes."

Like hidden tracks, for example, fuck that shit. I mean, not only would the "hidden" aspect of the track only affect you on your initial listen, but most of the time you know it's going to be there anyways. Yeah, I really hate hidden tracks.

Yes, I always get bored when I'm listening Kid A, 'Motion Picture Soundtrack' has 7mim playtime, but it actually sounds less 3min and then hidden track came out and disappear, and I'm left with 3min-more silence(It's crazy)

Doesn't really matter to me actually. I enjoy albums that lead in or have silence (depending on the music of course). That being said, I prefer the tie - ins and what not because it constantly keeps the music going which is great, but most of the time a small amount of silence is a little nice time to get prepared for the next song, so I chose breaktime option.

That being said, tie - ins can suck, but I haven't heard one that has (one of my favorites being on the album dookie between Longview and the track before it). Pretty interesting topic though (at least one that I haven't seen before), kind of difficult to form full thoughts on.
I guess hidden tracks were cool one day. You'd pop your vinyl in, listen to the listed songs, and suddenly BAM a new song you didn't expect. Nowadays you download the album and either you see a 20 minute song which has audio for the first 3 minutes and then silence until the end or it's listed as another track. Pretty pointless IMO. I usually edit the tracks so the "hidden tracks" are just another track without silence inbetween.

On the OP's topic, I enjoy it when all the songs flow without interruption, when the album is kinda like one long song. Good tie-ins between songs can change the experience for me. I'd rather have silence than cheap tie-ins though.
