The majority of them are out of context. You should watch some episodes from seasons 3 - 6 to truly appriciate the show.

I kind of like that last idea, the other problem I have with a favourite episode tournament is that it has been done to death, and I want do something different. Everyone has their favourite episodes and what have you and I don't actually care what they are, I am interested in people favourites jokes or moments are though, its a bit more personal I guess.

Yeah, I don't think it would be completely obvious. While all the ones you suggested were great, the ones Loveless suggested were also awesome, and now I'm thinking of some others I could get behind:

And it might be more difficult, but instead of doing a tournament, I think it might be cool to each put down our top 20 or so, and then figure out collectively our top 20 (or so) favorite Simpsons episodes. I like seeing a list instead of one winner (though this route would be more difficult, and probably involve less clip-watching).

The Simpsons are definitely my favourite sitcom of all time, glad to see so many fans here too.

I'd say the best epiosdes are "Homer Badman", "Last Exit to Springfield" and "And Maggie Makes Three"
Homer Badman in particular is underrated, almost every line in that episode in quote-worthy

Marge On The Lam FTW

I like the compromise of only a couple of scenes every time. Helps keep promotion streamlined rather than all over the place too.

Best Character Tourney? I guess those results would probably be even more obvious.
