Yeah, apologies, I may have been a little unclear there. What I was saying is that, while we may agree that it is grammatically correct, I don't think the word "literally" is superfluous in that context as you seemed to be implying.

Lay and lie. Holy fuck. I swear 99% of people don't use lay and lie correctly. It's so bad that I cringe every time I listen to ITAOTS because of it ("But for now we are you/Let us lay in the sun").

That's not even my biggest pet peeve though. Nothing will ever irk me more than the way people use "literally." No other word gets thrown around so often and so unnecessarily. The only reason this word should have to be used is if you actually need to distinguish between a literal or a figurative meaning, but most of the time people just use it for emphasis.

Example 1: "OMG i literally just ate a whole pizza!!"

"Ate a whole pizza" has no figurative meaning. Yes, you did literally eat a whole pizza, but there is no reason that "literally" should need to be used.

But that's just the best case. Often people will use "literally" entirely wrong.

Example 2: "OMG i literally just died!!"

Unless you are a fucking ghost, you did not. In fact, people have destroyed this word so much that if you Google it, the second definition will be:

"Used to acknowledge that something is not literally true but is used for emphasis or to express strong feeling."

Are you fucking kidding me? People are so unable to grasp how to use this fucking word that now we have to provide an alternate definition for fucktards that basically says "this is a word that you use when you mean the opposite of what this word means." What. The. Fuck.

Damn shit got me heated.

This bothers me, too, but I want to clarify that while "I could care less" is incorrect, the question "Who could care less?" is 100% correct. This is a passionate issue for me because one time when I was a kid my dad and older brother tried to correct me when I said "Who could care less?" and when I tried to explain it to them they didn't take it seriously and I remember wanting to punch a baby.

Also I think saying things that are grammatically incorrect ironically is fine as long the people you say them to know you're being ironic.

Also as long as you say it in a decidedly ironic tone of voice.

I spell definitely wrong all the time, with an a instead of the second i. Even though I know it's wrong I normally just leave it, makes more sense to me being spelt that way, sorry if it annoys anyone 🤣

Spelling mistakes don't get to me that much apart from the your/you're and there/there/they're ones. People who say could care less deserve to be shot though.
