Elton John

Empty Sky- Skyline pigeon
Elton John- Sixty Years On
Tumbleweed Connection- My Father's Gun
Madman Across the Water- Levon
Honky Chateau- Rocket Man
Don't Shoot Me- Blues For My Baby and Me
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road- Harmony
Caribou- I've Seen the Saucers
Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy- Tower of Babel
Rock of the Westies- I Feel Like A Bullet In the Gun of Robert Ford
Blue Moves- Chameleon

This is the end of the "classic" EJ era. I'll pick up with 1983 and skip all the disco crap in a later post.

Just posted this on the Weird Al thread, but it fits here too.

Best Weird Al songs by album:

"Weird Al" Yankovic - I'll Be Mellow When I'm Dead
("I don't need a course in self awareness to find out who I am,
and I'd rather have a Big Mac or a Jumbo Jack than all the bean sprouts in Japan")

In 3-D - Midnight Star
("You can use your ESP to learn to play guitar!")

Dare To Be Stupid - Yoda
("I know Darth Vader's really got you annoyed
But remember if you kill him then you'll be unemployed.")

Polka Party - Dog Eat Dog
("Sometimes I tell myself, this is not my beautiful stapler!
Sometimes I tell myself, this is not my beautiful chair!")

Even Worse - Alimony
("Lawyers calling me on the telphoney,
Trying to raise the blood from a stoney stoney")

UHF - Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota
("...all the places where we've already been.
Like Elvisorama, the Tupperware Museum, the Boll Weevil Monument, and Cranberry World
the Shuffleboard Hall of Fame, Poodle Dog Rock, and the Mecca of Albino Squirrells.
We've been to ghost towns, theme parks, wax museums,
and the place where you can drive through the middle of a tree
We've been to alligator farms and tarantula ranches,
But there's still one place we gotta see")

Off the Deep End - You Don't Love Me Anymore
("If you don't mind me asking, what's this poisonous cobra doing in my underwear drawer?
Got a funny feeling you don't love me anymore.")

Alapalooza - Bohemian Polka
(Bohemian Rhapsody, in polka form)

Bad Haird Day - Calling in Sick
("I think I'll call my boss then I'm gonna hack and cough and wheeze
Swear I've got some strange disease
What's that little twerp gonna say?
I'm calling in sick today!")

Running With Scissors - Germs
("They're all over me! They're inside of me! Can't get 'em off of me! I'm covered with
microscopic bacteria")

Poodle Dog Hat - Party at the Leper Colony
("There's a guy in the hot tub I don't know who
Wait a minute it looks like Stu")

Straight Outta Lynwood - Pancreas
("My pancreas attracts all other pancreases in the universe with a force that is proportional to their masses and inversely proportional to the distance between them")

Alpocalpyse - CNR
("Charles Nelson Reilly figured out cold fusion and he never even told a soul
I've seen him unhinge his jaw and swallow a Volkswagen whole.")

One hates to quote oneself, but his new album is the best one he's done in 20 years. So I had to extend this List.

Mandatory Fun - Sports Song
("Our coach really has the Midas touch
Our players are fast and strong and brave
And your guys, ehh, not so much.

We're great, and you suck.
We're great, and you suck.
We're great, and you suck.
There's us, and then there's you. You suck.
We're really really great. In contrast, you really suck.
Okay, full disclosure, we're not that great. But, nevertheless, you suck.")

I thought about it...and if I had to pick a favorite "band" it would be the projects that include these members: Nick Allbrook, Cam Avery, Jay Watson, Kevin Parker, etc etc.
They make up the Perth, WA Noe-Psychedelia movement.

Tame Impala:
InnerSpeaker
Lonerism

Pond:
Psychedelic Mango
Corridors of Blissterday
Frond
Beards, Wives and Denim
Hobo Rocket

Allbrook/Avery:
Big 'Art

Mink Mussel Creek:
Mink Mussel Manticore

Gum:
Delorean Highway

Melody's Echo Chamber:
Melody's Echo Chamber

Nicholas Allbrook:
Ganough, Wallis and Fatuna

There are even more projects amongst the members, I have a lot of research to do.
This post is only as a placeholder for now. But no doubt in my mind that I've loved everything from all of these projects, therefore making "Tame Impala" my favorite band by association.

I've probably done this before

The Smiths - Reel Around The Fountain
Hatful of Hollow - Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want
Meat Is Murder - The Headmaster Ritual
The Queen Is Dead - I Know It's Over
Strangeways Here We Come - Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before
Louder Than Bombs - Asleep

I've actually not heard the latter two in their entirety but heard near enough the whole album individually.

EDIT: Jesus Christ how did I miss that. Amendment bolded 😉 thanks Dingerbell

I don't want to do every single Neil Young album, because nobody would read through that anyway. Instead, I'll do his "golden" period, 69-79, plus random others as I see fit.

'68 Neil Young - The Loner
'69 Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere - Cinnamon Girl
'70 After the Gold Rush - Don't Let it Bring You Down
'72 Harvest - The Needle and the Damage Done
'73 Time Fades Away - Journey Through the Past
'74 On the Beach - Motion Pictures (For Carrie)
'75 Tonight's the Night - Tonight's the Night
'75 Zuma - Cortex the Killer
'77 American Stars n Bars - Like a Hurricane
'78 Comes a Time - Human Highway
'79 Rust Never Sleeps - Thrasher
'82 Trans - Computer Age
'89 Freedom - Rockin in the Free World
'90 Ragged Glory - F*!#in' Up
'92 Harvest Moon - From Hank to Hendrix
'03 Greendale - Double E
'10 Le Noise - Angry World
'12 Americana - Clementine

...I think I burst a blood vessel on this one.
