Enjoyed LS but not the sort of thing I think I could ever really connect with. DY, BTB has stayed with me since it became one of my first musical discoveries to introduce me to a different way of thinking about music (I'll elaborate later if I get the chance).

I liked the TV album, but not much more than that to be honest. I would not be surprised to see it grow on me with time, but at the moment, I much prefer Lynyrd Skynyrd. Voted for them.

Errmmm, it's a bit difficult of a description. Just imagine some guys who take clarinets and smash them on the ground, while watching some old fashioned romantic comedy (like The Grudge), and that's kind of like what they might sound like, if only my diction were more developed and akin to what I'm actually thinking.

Slight edge to Desperate Youth... More consistent and more interesting (great sound overall), though I have to say I like Simple Man more than any other track on these two albums.

Okay, so TV on the Radio is pretty good at an initial listen, but I'm still going for Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Maybe as the tourney progresses my feeling towards TVOTR will warm.

I like both bands alright, but haven't heard either album in full. I'm guessing I'd lean more towards Skynyrd just because TV on the Radio isn't really my bag (except for "Wolf like Me"; I love that shit).

Return to Cookie Mountain and Dear Science got more critical praise, but I think Desperate Youth Bloodthirsty Babes is ageing far better than either of them. What made Tv on the Radio's music distinct to me is how they mix their vocal harmonies with the lightly electronic/noisy guitar soundscapes (while still writing what are essentially pop songs), and this albums got the most involved use of both.

King Eternal and Poppy are two of my absolute favourite songs ever (King Eternal currently is the most played song in my itunes, Poppy and Dreams are not far behind)

Lynyrd Skynyrd is a perfectly good album as well, but not much chance against tvotr.

Though I doubt Skynyrd will get the win, It should get credit as a fantastic Southern Rock album with legends like Simple Man, Free Bird, and Gimme Three Steps.

I fucks with Lynyrd's debut, and haven't listened to TV's one. I've read it was pretty polarizing. I may be able to listen to it tonight.

Skynyrd's debut likely won't get the credit it deserves, but it's also up against one of the best debuts of the new millennium. Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes was such a breath of fresh air when it came out. still is.
