Turned 18 in 1998 - my highest-ranked album from that year is 'Without You I'm Nothing' by Placebo (#30). It's a very good album but I'd be surprised if there aren't better ones out there for me to discover . . .

i think i might've had a total of about 8 albums (cassettes) when i was 18. now in the digital age, i'm probably around 4k+. Crazy..

I'm 19, so 2012 is that year for me.

In a way, this has everything I've ever wanted from music. I don't know if music will ever mean more to me than it has over the past 2 year and the next few years, but this record will always be one of my favorites and its quickly becoming my favorite. Rarely do I find a record that perfectly encapsulates everything that I'm thinking and feeling at a specific moment than this record does. It took me a while to come to fully love this and their other record Post-Nothing, but I'm glad I did. Japandroids music is so great to me becasue it is basically the soundtrack to my life right now and later in life, when I'm old and angry (well, I'm already that) and feeling nostalgic, their music will remind me of this time in my life.

So yeah, I think this record is pretty great

I bought a ton of music when I turned eighteen, but the one album that has stuck out to me, that has been there through thick and thin, and the record that I come back to again and again...

I remember distinctly in 2005 falling in love with the Foo Fighters and Incubus because of their releases from that year In Your Honor and A Crow Left Of The Murder. Incubus has been awful ever since, Foo Fighters still pretty decent. But my personal taste has changed significantly overall.

My year was 2010. Not sure what it would have been from that year back then.. maybe Tourist History- Two Door Cinema Club. Now I'd go for Teen Dream.

There are probably 2 completely different lists that exist.

1). The List of my favorite albums when I was 18, and
2). This list of my favorite albums now from the year I turned 18.

Not my favorite year in music. But at the time these two albums were the best for me. The Antlers came in to my life just two years ago, so I wont include them.
