I am more disappointed than I have been since game Game 6 and 5 and 4 of the World Series.

damn... Dummy is a damn good album though, so props there.

I voted pink flag. It's got this very intriguing sound to it that doesn't leave me feeling isolated or awkward that other albums that sound odd do. Dummy is ok. I've always felt it to be overly long (it's not actually that long, it just feels like a long album) and boring. It's one of those albums that actually do leave me isolated, but Glory Box is an amazing song.

Colin Larkin often used 'dinner party' as a negative descriptor of music...

I'd be an interesting thread - music for different events (dinner, poker, sports, etc...) and for different crowds...

I think Dummy is mad dated. It gives off a dinner party vibe too. That said, Wire never did a whole lot for me. They're certainly enjoyable, but not really my cup of tea. Going with Dummy here.

Pink Flag is cool and fun punk rock, I see nothing wrong with that but when you compare it with the mystery and complex nature of Dummy it's kinda easy for me. So, Dummy it is.

I nominated Pink Flag. It's my favorite debut ever. Portishead's debut is also amazing, just not as much so. Trust me. Truuuuust meeee, you vant zu vote for ze Vire record.... Yessss....

"Pink Flag" is The greatest punk album of all time in my opinion. It should be noted I have not heard every punk record, but I've heard a good amount. and zis iz my fave. This record is loud and abrasive, but the really great thing about it is it's unmatched precision. The band just perfectly and artfully deconstructs rock and puts it back together again with only its most intense and necessary elements. Then it speeds it up and turns it up and spits it back out at us like a blowtorch. Then in the second half after your mind has been thoroughly whitewashed of all prior ideas of rock cliche then the record eases you back into a few unexpected and perfectly executed pop hooks. So genius.

I love Pink Flag, but it's not even my favorite Wire album (it would be 154 #scaruffi4life). Dummy is at #3 on my chart. Heartbreaking, but easy choice.
