The reason signature images are restricted in size is to make the forums easer to read, so the size will stay as it is for the time being. Previously, it was very difficult trying to read anything on the forums as the content was getting crowded out by people's signatures &amp; forum pages were taking too long to load.</description>

Just compress it using an image editor to get it under the threshold.</description>
