You might be. They've got a pretty sexy sound going on actually. I've just never been one for female vocals in music. Yes, I do enjoy trip hop quite a bit and most of it is run by female vocals. Yes, i do enjoy plenty of trip hop albums with female vocals on it, but, for some reason, the vocalist seems to alienate me at every turn. I feel the music on it just doesn't compliment the vocals well enough for me to care. It's not necessarily boring, but it isn't interesting which isn't exactly the same, but boredom is the closest emotion to what I feel without having a horribly long explanation of the situation.

When I first heard of Portishead, I thought they were some kind of inferior Radiohead 😨 it was a phase guys. Dummy is my jam at the moment and I would love to listen to their other albums. They would probably be impacting live as well, I saw a performance at Glastonbury on the telly and they looked so into it. I wanted to be there. 🙁

I love Portishead, all three of their albums are some of my favorites of all time. My favorite album from them is Third.

Hm, I like them a lot and even have Dummy on my chart but I don't find myself returning to them much lately. Of course, I may relisten to Dummy soon and fall back in love with it, so there's that. Third is mad dope, too. Haven't listened to their self-titled in a while.

They were a big group back in the 90s. Has some great songs and a cool quiet sound. The people who liked Gorillaz in the 00s would have been fans of these. A lot is said about the album 'Dummy'. No thread for the group Portishead though. I remember there were good songs on the other two studio albums. They're also named after a place! Have fun:
