I feel like albums like:

Slowdive - Just for a Day
Pearls Before Swine - Balaklava
Roy Montgomery - And Now the Rain
Van der Graaf Generator - Pawn Hearts
Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom

are very underrated... especially for the ones by Slowdive and Van der Graaf, that are not so difficult to listen to.

And yeah I barely know anyone that knows Forever Changes. My dad bought it on CD in the 90s because according to him, it really started to gain some popularity at that time.

"Ceremony" by Anna Von Hausswolff: it's my favorite album of 2013.
And I haven't seen it anywhere, and I mean really nowhere at all, in all the "best-of-year" charts that flood the music press and and the music blogs at the end of each year.
I feel like I'm the only person on the planet who knows and loves it. Which can't be true, can it?

With stoners mainly. But yeah, one of my friends when I was around 14 had a Forever Changes mural on his bedroom wall. I remember joking in Art Class about the "snot has caked against my pants" lyric with a bunch of other kids when I was like 13. It was just a well-known album among my friends.

I literally only know two people who had ever heard of it before encountering me, one of them being my uncle, and both of them not liking it. Seriously, in what environment did you grow up? That's crazy. Well that's awesome, mostly. Perhaps the kids I was hanging with weren't cool enough 🤔 But yeah, among the super-masterpieces on which critics (and me) masturbate furiously, FC is for sure one of the most unknown by people in normal life.

Not on this website, not with the msuic critics, but with what I'd call the big public: Forever Changes may be one of the most unknown, underlighted albums of them all. I wonder if I know 20 people in real live who have heard it.

Lateralus by Tool

By far. On this website, it gets the acclaim it deserves. But by professional critics? Completely underrated. Granted, there are critics who laud this album, but there are a few idiots like this:

I get that that's an OPINION and I just have to say that my OPINION is that you're wrong. Some Nights produced a few good songs, but as a whole just doesn't stand up as well.
