I'm a big Bruce fan but I'm in the minority(?) in finding this too minimalistic. I love all the E Street Band stuff the most and generally like his albums without them quite a bit less. That said, Reason to Believe is a great closer and Highway Patrolman is simply excellent. _________________ Top Canadian songs, keyless entry remotes, home care, whatever...

I like this one a lot. However, it'll have to stand in line behind BORN TO RUN and THE RIVER, respectively. _________________ Speakers of the House DJ

This one made me finally give Bruce a chance, and I'm so glad I did. It's sort of the gateway album for indie rockers who appreciate organic lo-fi recordings. I don't know why it's not on my chart. When I expand my list, this one will definitely make it. It's so haunting and dark though. It's spooky to listen to, especially if you pay close attention to the lyrics, which paint a very bleak picture. of life in '79-80 America. There's almost no glimmer of hope on the album.

Hey, can I ask why people like The River? It's so bloated and corny. I'd accuse it of being a cynical grab at nostalgia before I'd ever do the same for Born in the U.S.A. _________________ I love all music. It makes you feel like living. Silence is death.

There are some great songs on that one, especially the title track, but the nostalgic 50's rock n roll stuff in out of place. This never should have been a double album. And how the hell the absolutely smoking "Roulette" ended up on the sideline 'round this time is an absolute mystery to me. If you have Tracks, that song is a major stand out in my opinion.
