Generic thread we get every year about *gasp* that year's albums!

Post your finds and recs!

As for me, only thing I've checked out is Mogwai's Rave Tapes, which was an amazing way to start the year. Thanks to Geevy for that!

Yeah, this album is excellent. I also really like the albums by Angel Olsen, Thee Silver Mt. Zion..., Self Defense Family, Alor, Jeremy Jay and Sharon Jones.

i think i'm tightening up my minimum requirements for holding onto 2014 albums. Last year, i went with a minimum album rating of 65 where i ended up rounding up the track average to find the album rating (not counting "whole album. This year, i think i'm going with a minimum track average of 65.

First albums to fall under my new stringent judgment: drive-by truckers, notwist and stephen malkmus.

The way I do is if I don't think I will listen to an album at LEAST 10 times then I do not hold onto it. It works for me

What's the best source for finding 2014 albums as they come out?

I'd be interested to know this too. Where does everyone find out about new albums that have come out?
