I think Led Zeppelin is overrated. From what I've heard from them they only have one sound with the exception of Kashmir. I mean, it sounds good and is even innovative as heck but there are plenty more diverse bands out there that deserve more attention. Also I'm drunk so don't be too harsh...

Laughing Laughing Laughing

E'ry day.

I get it. I think for Led Zeppelin is a mood - if riff rock is my thing or blues rock is my thing right now, then I think 10/10 for the Zepps.

If I'm not really in the mood for that and sometimes feel their interpretation of the blues isn't that great, or their riff rock a bit formulaic, then I'm like 7/10.

But most the time I'm like, eh 8 or 9/10.

This album though, sucks. Definitely a 7/10 on best of days.

EDIT: Going to California, Ramble On (verse), and some others are great non-blues/riff rock stuff I really dig of theirs. 11/10 E'ry day.

I think this album is one of their best, and Achilles Last Stand kicks ass, especially live. One of their most bombastic, and over the top songs they ever wrote. (and that's really saying something).

Not the best Zeppelin album (that would be Led Zeppelin IV) but a solid effort. I REALLY like "Nobody's Fault But Mine", one of the best hard rocking songs they did. The rest of the album isn't as good but makes for enjoyable listening.

@ rockinsteve

Yeah, I would guess that at this point in time the Zep were pretty much over... Really liked Physical Graffiti though...

Isn't one of the songs on this album based on John Paul Jones picking up a hooker with a penis?

Royal Orleans, and it’s actually more so about how those two rolled two joints, fell asleep and then burned down the hotel room
