love this album. near perfect.
great guitar. eddie vetter and the band show up and hit a barry bonds grand slam.
im a bit shocked that its rated only 82/100.
of all the big bands from seattle - soundgarden, nirvana, alice in chains- these guys are still around.
who would have known.

Excellent album, one of the best rock debuts. I really love VS. but this will probably still be my favorite Pearl Jam album even with several songs getting overplayed on radio at this point. _________________ Check out some of my other interest on my own review site. Scum N' Villainy

Excellent album. One of my all time favourite. As a Pearl Jam related album only eclipsed by Temple Of The Dog.

First of all, this is just a stupidly good album. Just amazingly consistent with great highlights and by far the best album of the grunge era.
It is also far and away above everything the band has done since. It's always a shame when a band doesn't outdo their debut, but it happens pretty often. While the next 4-5 PJ albums are pretty good, not a single one is in the same category as this.
Speaking about the album, the first half is loaded with hits, and the first 6 songs are apsolutely mindblowing. However, I would argue that the songs that come after it are just as good. Oceans and Release are my favourites and in my opinion 2nd and 3rd best song of the album, and Porch and Garden are underrated rockers. _________________ All time
