Part of me was very disappointed in this. It felt like a collection of B-side stuff they wanted to finish up and get rid of. Proof of this is the release of 2 more songs a couple months later, that probably should have been on this album. The other part of me thought it was interesting. The last two songs are absolutely great. Give Up The Ghost is by far my favorite.

If it was made by any other band, it would have sunk without trace

On the other hand if it was made by other any other band, there would be no masterpieces in that band's discography (like Kid A, OK Computer are), that this album would be compared to...

It would be heard by less people, that's for sure, but there would be no "oh it's pretty good, but they made Kid A and Amnesiac which were better so this actually sucks..." This would probably mean a lower rank on this site (less charts entered), but a better average rating, both here and on RYM.

I liked this album from beginning and it has only grown on me. Give Up the Ghost was always my favourite, but Bloom, Lotus Flower and I guess other two songs in the second half are all great.

Still haven't listened to it. If I'm not a hardcore Radiohead fan in the first place, should I even bother with it?
As a point of reference, the two Radiohead albums I got really into were The Bends and Kid A

This album is at #245 on the overall chart because a gazillion people put it in their top 100 of all time based on one (or fewer) listens. Then many of those people never came back and removed it once they realized it stunk.

A possible flaw in the system?

As well, I see albums from 2012 (which just turned 2 weeks old TODAY) being added to the site on top 100 of all time charts.

Really?

how do you know that people put it on their charts without really listening to it
