I remember it being better the second time around. I'll give it a third listen a little later today.

Not good. Need a better album. Find Rusty Cage and Jesus Christ Pose much better.

Can't we have a good album of the day? Sad

Good album. Trails off a little at the end. Badmotorfinger is better.

Translated.

Grunge is not particularly my thing, and this is good, but by no mean I find it amazing. Still better than Nevermind, IMO.

I'm guessing it's no secret that I love this album. It was my #2 for a really long time, but it has gone down in recent months. Still, a fucking masterpiece. Literally the only album I've ever heard that lasts over an hour that wouldn't have benefited from being shorter.

Anywho, the album. The highlights aren't as good as the ones on Badmotorfinger, but this album succeeds handsomely by its flow and texture alone. Not a one second of its 70 minute running time feels out of place. Highlights for me are "Fresh Tendrils" (one of the greatest songs of all time), "Fell on Black Days", "Mailman", "Head Down", "Kickstand", and "4th of July". Admittedly, there are songs I don't care for as much ("My Wave", "The Day I Tried to Live"), which is a big part of why it ended up falling on my list, but it doesn't really disrupt the flow at all.

I also really love the way Cornell's voice acts almost as another instrument on this album. It just fits so flawlessly into the production, in my opinion.

Oh, and "Like Suicide" is a beast of a closer.

EDIT: Oh, geez, how did I forget "Limo Wreck"? Easily one of the most haunting musical arrangements I've ever heard (though I could say the same about "Mailman" and "Fresh Tendrils"; it's just kind of creepy album overall, in a good way).

Agree with most of what you said, but especially this. One of my favorite closers, especially with Half being it's sort of intro.

In my opinion Cornell is the greatest vocalist of all time, especially from the late 80's-mid90's. I have nothing bad to say about this album, it's a masterpiece.
