"I'M ALIVE!!!! Bruce Springsteen is back on a rocking album full of nostalgia and the celebration and thrill of being alive. Recorded entirely live, a few overdubs aside, it is the sound of the E street band on stage and firing on all cylinders. "One minute you're gone" kicks off the record on a c..."  [+]  Reply

"No one is more in the bag for this record. It took To Pimp a Butterfly to beat it for my AOTY the year their debut was released. The Underside of Power does not have the immediacy of Algiers' self-titled, which is really to this record's benefit. There's more room for variety, for atmosphere, for..."  [+]  Reply

"It's subdued, introspective, jazzy, perhaps even "sedate," almost a callback to the Beatnik Era, complete with the dingy 50's kitchen curtain and the stained coffee mug going cold on the side table as you chain-smoked Turkish cigarettes, the sort of album you probably wouldn't put on for your gir..."  [+]  Reply

"I am quite surprised that I am the first person leaving a comment for this superb album. What a great chill out, funky, up-beat experience this is. Coming out in 79 it has a very eighties feel about it which I absolutely love. Stunning production which jumps out of the speakers, well, the vinyl d..."  [+]  Reply

"This defied all my expectations. I thought it was going to be 'generic King Gizzard material', but this record may be one of their best, if not their best album to date. Very consistent from start to finish. I can't even tell which songs are my favorites because every one of them is amazing!"  Reply

"Nothing truly bad here, but just far too many generic slow ballads. Tight A$ and Meat City are good rockers off the album and they help with the pacing. Bring on the Lucie (Freda People) isn't quite as good as those for me, but it's alright. One Day (At a Time) is probably the best song off the a..."  [+]  Reply

"The decemberists' "castaways and cutouts" is a literary yarn of sea shanties and seaside romance gone awry full of parapets and petticoats. Literary alt-rock with a unique lyrical P.O.V. (vs all the other alt-rock out there) with songs like "here I dreamt I was an architect" (an architect who "bu..."  [+]  Reply

"The long awaited follow-up to, us, up, is quite possibly Peter Gabriel's most underrated album. It's a dark record full of loss and anguish with a few exceptions. There are some excellent tracks; growing up, is brilliant, sky blue, and, signal to noise, are other strong cuts. I grieve, is achingl..."  [+]  Reply
