And yes, I can see where the hate is coming from. But every time I listen to this album, I completely forget the constant lashings that the members here give this album. For one, the production work of Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno is absolutely stellar. This record just sounds fantastic. Not only that, the album is filled to the brim with a staggering amount of emotion. Tracks like "Running to Stand Still" make me just want to sit down and cry. Bono puts so much emotion into his vocals, it is amazing the emotion he can convey at times. The Edge's guitar work is fantastic, too. It sounds dreamy, and his riffs really add a lot to the album. U2 are very tight playing wise. Every one of these tracks are just great, not a single bad one. I love this album, and I feel that no one here can change that."  [+]  Reply

It is a look inside Kurt’s mind through 12 songs and 41 minutes of pure back-and-forth loud guitar, disturbing images and lyrics, and utter trouble. This was his suicide letter and his final goodbye. Scentless apprentice features more emotion than nearly anything I have ever heard. Milk It and Radio Friendly Unit Shifter continue the same tense feeling, with Tourette’s ultimately ending it before All Apologies comes to restore a depressing, beautiful acoustic with lyrics that make you sit somberly. RIP to the greatest to ever do it. Not many individuals can live to make such an impact on the world in such a small amount of time, and I think that is what people overlook with Kurt and Nirvana. It is not a statement, it is a 100% true fact. On another note, and almost off-topic, our world has not seen that since then, and this album, in my opinion, is the last great grunge rock album. That opinion will never change. Although there are many great musicians out there, we will never see another Nirvana, nor an In Utero. This album truly was one of a kind. 10/10"  [+]  Reply

Their lead singer is a neanderthalic thug with annoying vocal affectations like 'sheeeeeiiiine', and their fans are just as moronic. They steal everything and don't have a single new musical idea of their own. They world's most successful Beatles/Slade tribute band. They were one of the biggest instigators of the Loudness War. Their songwriting consists of Moon/June rhymes and the same few clichéd themes (the weather, leaving the city, songwriting itself). They revel in their anti-intellectualism. Early-'90s British indie music was getting along quite promisingly until they came along and overwhelmed it. They were the prime example of how the entirety of the Britpop movement was inherently creatively bankrupt due to how backwards-looking it was. They never changed and basically kept releasing the same album over and over again. 'Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball' is one of the worst lyrics ever written. "Overall, Oasis' music is derivative, repetitive, unambitious, inane, generally backwards-looking and Pulp were better anyway." Yes, I admit it's hard to argue against almost any of those complaints... ... but I love this album anyway. (Though not quite as much as Definitely Maybe.)"  [+]  Reply
