Coincidentally, both are my favorite albums from Converge.

Definitely agree, You Fail Me has its moments though, just doesn't reach the fever pitch Jane Doe overall.

Holy crap, I just found coolest thing, and this thread is a perfect place to post it. Its some band called "Ved Buens Ende" who only released one album before dissapearing into obscurity. Wikipedia calls them avant-metal, prog metal and black metal......I'm not sure how to define it, weird chords, surreal vocals, fuzzy distortion and odd song structures. Whatever it is, its awesome, everyone listen to it NOW!!!!!

I liked the sound, dark and heavy. I didn't find the song particulary interesting, but maybe they have done better?

Well critically, I think some of their other albums are more highly regarded that Unholy Cult. Dawn of Possesion, Here in After and Close to a World Below are all very very good. Unholy Cult is my favorite though.

Unwound's selections seem pretty ballin to me. I'll defs second Bergtatt by Ulver, The Mantle by Agalloch and Through Silver in Blood by Neurosis (amongst others).

I'm still not really sure what exactly you're looking for though; pure chaos? Can you give examples of the "heavy" stuff that you like?
