I love Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock, but I've never heard this album - actually I've never really given it a thought. Would it be a disappointment if you like the style of their two latter?

Their first in their string of masterpieces. "Life's What You Make It" is easily one of their best songs. One of the best pop albums of the 80's and deserves more recognition than it gets.

On another note, I'm excited to hear Mark Hollis's new track

Oh man I love this.

Probably in between Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock in terms of greatness. Just. So. Good.

Sounds fun, I should really get this. I'm not Hairymarx, I also like the latter half of VU's discography

The definition of a transition album. Just builds from sugary pop to post-rock foundations. Love this!
