OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG STRANGE MERCY IS ALBUM OF THE DAY

Okay, lemme start. First, yes, it has an absolutely beautiful surface, what with all the distinct reverb, echos and and an overall quite ethereal production. She's also a trapeze artist on the guitar. So it's like all the best qualities of Talking Heads, PJ Harvey and Cocteau Twins rolled in one. And yet dig below the surface and it's apparent that this beautiful creature is actually quite insane. Just listen closely to songs like "Dilletante" and "Northern Lights", they're not only wild and beautiful but they have a POV of someone clearly deranged. It's almost a shock she can still make such a gorgeous (and coherent) album.
