I might like this song if it had the raw energy and eccentricity that his earlier stuff had. His "as long as there's you" line could sound so emotional if he upped the octave.
Instead it kinda just sounds like a old guy drabbling over a few instruments playing random notes in a chord.
Probably because it is.
My first thought was "YEAH BOWIE RELEASES A NEW ALBUM!!!!!!!" and then "YEEEEAAAAH NEW SINGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Personally I find it an exciting step for Bowie, and the song reminds me of the album "Heroes" from 77. It is depressing, kind of beautiful and slightly disturbing.
