Open your eyes, look up to the skies and seeeee....
Queen is fun. A bit over the top, and not the best ever, but still fun. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.

You're my Best Friend is pure bliss. '39 is such a great surprise. Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon is a Beatles-esque chuckler. Prophet's Song is campy 70's awesomeness. And of course, the best song ever... you know what I'm talking about.... _________________ Top Canadian songs, keyless entry remotes, home care, whatever...

One of the few Queen album I'd say is worth the listen. Bohemian Rhapsody has got to be one of the greatest songs ever recorded. The rest of the album holds up pretty well though.

Wow, I can't believe that this album finally showed up as AotD on a weekend when I was gone.
Anyway, as many of you are probably aware by now, this is my favorite album of all time, and has been for a damn long time. There's not a single weak song on the album (though a lot of people don't care for "Good Company" (which is a shame; the guitar work on that song is incredible) or "Sweet Lady" (which is definitely my least favorite on the album, to be fair)), and the highlights are phenomenal.
"Bohemian Rhapsody" is the obvious choice, but I think every song on this album deserves some recognition. "Death on Two Legs" is a great, extremely emotional (and almost scary in places) opener, "Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon" is just catchy as fuck, "I'm in Love with My Car" has some incredible guitar and drum fills, "You're My Best Friend" has some of my favorite chord changes, "'39" is the pinnacle of folk prog, not only in its unbelievably gorgeous melodies, but also in its lyrical content (theory of relativity, lol), "Sweet Lady" has some sweet drum and vocal work, "Seaside Rendezvous" has an incredibly infectious melody and demonstrates some really creative use of various instruments (particularly the mouth), "Prophet's Song" is my favorite song of all time, combining orgasmic prog melodies with outstanding song structure (not to mention the vocal break) to make what I would call one of the very few absolutely perfect songs ever recorded, "Love of My Life" will practically drown you with emotion (in a good way), "Good Company", as I mentioned, has some incredible guitar work, "Bohemian Rhapsody" is obviously a masterpiece (superhuman harmonies, song structuring, vocal/guitar melodies, etc.), and "God Save the Queen" is just an incredibly fitting album-closer for an album so grand in scope.
Some people will accuse this album of having cheesy lyrics, being too over the top, or just not having a very focused sound, but I personally think the cheesy lyrics, over-the-topness, and almost abnormal amount of variety in sound is what made them such a unique band, and what made this album in particular such a unique album.

"Good Company" is a very great song and very underrated. It has the same cabaret-feel as "Bring Back That Leroy Brown", though much more toned down. Just looked it up on youtube and some guy has commented that Brian sings like Paul McCartney, actually much true! However, I have no idea what this album is doing at 60. Why so goddamn low? Queen-haters probably! _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal
