REM on the Monster tour, Huddersfield Mcalpine stadium, July 95. Supported by The Beautiful South, Belly (their singer was well tasty!) and magnapop. Remember it being a really sunny day and getting really pissed! Oasis were the support act but pulled out last minute, hence the beautiful south stepping in. Great gig and I've had the live music bug ever since.

Damn! Sounds like a killer show. I'd take the Beautiful South over Oasis any day.

Indeed it was, and the funny thing is, I've seen Oasis since and I enjoyed the Beautiful South far more (hence the long story on the guilty pleasures thread). And when I did see Oasis, their support act (Doves) were amazing, the best thing about the gig and made Oasis sound very average.

Reminds me of when I saw Weezer... they weren't bad, but definitely not a band I would go see again, but Jimmy Eat World opened and were amazing, that was for the Bleed American album as well, which is the only one I really love.

The first show that I remember going to was in the mid 1980s when I was like three or four years old. Sawyer Brown was on the stage and I was somewhere in the crowd crying over how loud the music was. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

God bless you and them always!!! Smile Smile Smile

Holly

P.S. I was only there for about ten minutes and several years later, I finally got to see them again at age 11-12 and to me they were so good I saw them again back in 2005. Smile Smile Smile
