I probably shouldn't consider myself a new member as I registered here over a year ago, but I hadn't been really active until recently, so I thought I should drop a few lines here
I began listening to music more seriously (as in actually searching for all kinds of music and albums) a little over two years ago, before that I went through an odd Japanese pop music phase when I thought J-pop was the greatest thing ever, I grew out of that but I guess you could also say that that was sort of my first step in my musical discovery (and I still have great appreciation for Japanese music, that hasn't changed ).
Nowadays my listening habits have become a bit all over the place, I've been very keen on progressive rock and krautrock for the past few months, and recently I've been trying to get into jazz. Metal and hip-hop are two genres that aren't really for me, but we'll see if that changes in the future.
My list of favorite artists changes all the time, but I guess I can say that Joanna Newsom is my idol and I firmly believe King Crimson is the greatest rock band of all time. Now that I'm a level 4 user I can finally expand my charts, I'll work on that in the next few weeks, but I should actually be studying for my exams at the moment, so I guess I'm getting off the internet for a little while...
