That's the main problem I'm having... I know very few people who like The Flaming Lips, and even fewer that own CD players anymore.

i have a dig copy of all 4 discs and my problem has been to find a way to combine them into one for a "proper" listen..

Alright, I've found a copy of the album... now to just track down three or more Flaming Lips fans who own CD players and try to give it a listen.
I refuse to listen to it before having a proper party.

I guess it's just a matter of everyone pressing play at the same time, right? Even still, won't that reveal minor mismatching between the 4 CD players? I really want to try it, I'm just wondering if that's prone to happen.

Nope. You don't press play at the same time. You press play on disc 1, which tells you when to press play on disc 2, which tells you when to press play on disc 3, which tells you when to press play on disc 4. It's all fancy co-ordinating timing. Super hi-tech. I suppose you could try to do it yourself, running around the room, but it's pretty tight timing.
