For me, the Pixies act as a bit of a precursor to grunge. Like Nirvana, I think they have some really great stuff. I understand why they're so acclaimed, and I understand why other people really like them, but it's not in my favorites.
"Velouria" is my favorite Pixies song, but all my other favorites are off Doolittle. "Debaser", "Here Comes Your Man", and "Crackity Jones" are all awesome. (How could you dislike a song called "Crackity Jones"?) _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!

Everything else is gret though. |
Can someone please give me a valid reason why Silver is not a good song? Because I fuckin' love it.

I do too. It's not the best song on the album, but it's also not the worst imo (there are no bad songs though), and I don't get why everyone hates it so much.

It's too slow. At least from what I remember.

Interesting. To me, the tempo gives it a really creepy, ghost town-y feel, which I like a lot.

It's definitely an interesting track for the Pixies, but I feel like it's a bit of a failed experiment if you know what I mean. It doesn't help that it doesn't really fit on Doolittle.

Again, I see where you're coming from, but I have to disagree. I don't see how it fits the overall aesthetic of the album any less than "There Goes My Gun" or "Here Comes Your Man".
But to each his own.
