I refuse to support pandora after what they tried to do to artist royalties and bending the law.

spotify's new 'discover' feature ain't bad. I mean there's very little I haven't heard of but the artists they're recommending is pretty sound: peter, bjorn and john because of phoenix, baths because of flying lotus, gonjasufi because of dj koze etc. and it doesn't know I know all those artists so you can't blame it. Although because of artists having unimaginative names it quite often comes up with some weird rec's. It said I should listen to this because I listened to Bob Dylan

Cool although something tells me they were thinking of the lesser (clapton featuring) Cream.

EDIT: actually just discovered a great artist called Rone I hadn't heard heard of so it's definitely at the very least - a useful tool.

Technicaly speaking I don't think I'm not supporting Pandora since it's not supposed to work in my country and I have to use Proxmate. + I also use adblock.

Then again, I'm probably not supporting artists either, right Think

This reminds me of a time when Grooveshark recommended a bunch of emo music to me because I listened to Pet Sounds and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Think

EDIT: And to Puncture, you're not trying. Yes, just looking at charts doesn't offer much discovery, but users like CellarDoor, Norman Bates, lethalnezzle, Magenta, and others are full of endless recs from all styles. BEA users still remain a significant source of recs for me, you just have to chat to the seasoned ones.

I've asked before but without much success. It also helps that you guys are friends.

But I'm really not complaining, the sites I'm using for recommendations are often getting me three new albums a day, most of which I really enjoy. Once again, this website is fantastic for music discussion.
