Good grief were we overfed at the time. Can't hear one damned second of this without feeling my stomach has just been turned upside down.

Couldn't have put it better myself

Everything that was 'dire' about the 80s in one vomit inducing package!

From another thread: how I rank the Dire Straits albums:

1. Dire Straits
2. Making Movies
3. Love Over Gold
4. Communique
5. Brothers In Arms
6. On Every Street

Being one of the younger users and a user who just got into blues rock, I've only heard one Dire Straits album and loved it, not seeing any "age." I don't believe albums can lose luster since I try not to let age determine how I view music. Unlike all of the user's comments above me, Brothers in Arms is a personal favorite album. And if BEA users say that other albums are better, than I'll have a great time with all the other Dire Straits albums! Anyway, Brothers in Arms is at 62 on my chart at the moment. I'll try the other Dire Straits albums later and see what people mean. I guess the debut is a good place to start right now.
