I don't really agree with this. There are definately some songs that sound futuristic (if that's what you're trying to get at)--Silent Shout, Ghost Rider, and Disco Infiltrator--but there are others that sound like they're from a previous decade--Southern Point, Revival, The End has no End-- and then some that sound like they're from the decade they were recorded in, resemble the body of music of that decade, or lyrically couldn't be taken out of that decade--B.O.B., Sprawl II, and Angel.

I would think futuristic music is mostly electronic too (or at least weird guitars, like Ed from Radiohead), and with fewer words than most rap or rock songs (think Kraftwerk's aesthetic).

i have to say that a futuristic sound is relative, even if electronic is the sound commonly associated with the future. even the rock songs chosen above have many electronic elements.
about B.O.B: i thought exactly the same thing, but the music is incredibly original and futuristic even when i'm listening to it 11 years after its release.
