People are falling too quickly into the "prog is for pretentious fruitcakes, punk is for retard teenagers" stereotypes. There's a lot more nuance to both genres than that.
Also, to the guy who said King Crimson is "faggy": Listen to this performance from the Bruford/Wetton/Cross era and tell me what you think after that.
Which reminds me: Both genres play into each other more than either side's defenders would like to admit, so don't go acting like the two are incompatible. Any fan of At The Drive-In knows this well enough.
