Top 3:

3. Van Halen (Tokyo, 2013)
2. Aerosmith/Street (Chicago, 1978)
1. UFO/Cheap Trick (Hammond, 1977)

Big disparity, but there was this bit of military service and some other stuff I was doing in-between.

Nice.

My fave was seeing Tom Waits at the Fox Theatre in 2009. Also was cool seeing Social D at the Pops and Dylan with Merle Haggard at the fox as well.

Rammstein was a badass show. I was only 11 but ill never forget it. Ministry was cool because it ended with Al Jourgenson getting in a fist fight with a person in the crowd and then we all cleared out.

Wilco put on a great show in 2005.

But yeah, Waits is my fondest.

Another St. Louisan! Haha, I saw NOFX at Pop's when they were touring in support of that okay album with Cokey the Clown or whatever on the cover.
Probably my favorite concert experience, though, has been of Montreal. I've seen them twice now and both times it was just so incredible. They do an amazing job of incorporating all sorts of dancing and costume changes and a feather cannon (both times) without it seeming too hokey.

I just got home from Peter Gabriel concert. What an evening it has been! He and his band (original So 1987 tour line-up) were fantastic, his voice sounds incredible live and the visual effects (both on the stage and on the screen) were the best I have ever seen.

so my top three concerts ever are:

Paul McCartney (2013,Vienna),
Peter Gabriel (2014,Budapest)
Roger Waters -Dark side of the moon (2007,Budapest)

In no particular order:

Springsteen on the Reunion Tour in 99. Saw him two nights in a row and was exhausted afterwards. I had never seen him before and I believed the hype after those two shows.

Peter Gabriel on his recent Front to Back tour. Coolest performer I've had the pleasure to see live. I've been wanting to see him for well over 25 years and I'm glad I finally did.

Paul McCartney a couple years ago. I had chills and the hairs on my arm were standing on end watching an actual live Beatle perform. And it helped that I was in the 12th row.

The Police on their reunion tour. I saw them back in the 80's and never thought they would get back together again. I won a backstage contest as well!

Finally, any Rush show I have seen over the past 30 years. This past Clockwork Angels tour was incredible.

The Knack. 2001. By far the most energetic performance I have ever seen. They had a tech onstage the entire show replacing pieces of the kit that the drummer was demolishing as he played. It was part of an oldies tour show with Tommy Tutone and Missing Persons. It wasn't supposed to be phenomenal. It truly was.

I saw The Knack around the same time. Doug Fieger was a local boy (Detroit area) so they played a small town festival in a beer tent. I was actually standing on the side of the stage watching them. And the drummer was great!
