Still need help understanding what unused points are worth.

185 unused points for a total of x somethings.

+15 points for Satellite + 60 for Golden Globes + 15 for Chicago.

90 + whatever I get for unused points.

Also, the New York Film Critics Circle awards were announced recently for the year, so if those count (and if we could clarify if those count that'd be great), I got another 15.

EDIT: Maybe we could just have a list of all the ones that will count, as I'm trying to figure out which will ...

There's also been the Los Angeles Film Critics, the British Independent film awards, the national board of review, the independent spirit award nominations, the AFI top ten and the screen actors guild nominations.

We decided unused points could be used to make last minute adjustments to your team. Simplest solution it seems. Therefore they're basically useless now. Unless everyone feels that's unfair in which we could probably adjust that. First time playing the game so I'm open to ideas to improve it.

As for what awards ceremonies count, allow me to refer you to the OP on this thread...

If nominated for an Oscar or a BAFTA, your person gets 20 points. If they win, they get an additional 50 points.

If nominated for a Golden Globe or a European Film Award, they get 10 points. A win brings in 30 more points.

If nominated for a Broadcast Film Awards, Critics Choice Award, Satellite Award, or EDA (from the Alliance of Women Film Journalists) they get 5 points, with a win being worth another 15 points.

Basically only awards that cover about 75% of the eligible categories are counted. If we included Screen Actors Guild Award it would assign more importance to the actors than to, say, the Cinematographers. I'm trying to keep everyone essentially even.

On that note, I seem to have missed the Broadcast Film nominations and the winners for the Chicago Film Critics Awards. One moment....

Jessica Chastain - 5
Ethan Coen - 5
Joel Coen - 5
Benedict Cumberbatch - 5
Jeremy Dawson - 5
Robert Duvall - 5
Ava DuVernay - 5
David Fincher - 5
Hoyte Van Hoytema - 5
Alejandro Innaritu - 15
Angelina Jolie - 5
Michael Keaton - 20
Richard Linklater - 45
Emmanuel Lubezki - 20
Arnon Milchan - 5
Julianne Moore - 20
David Oyelowo - 5
Rosamund Pike - 5
Eddie Redmayne - 5
Mark Ruffalo - 5
Teddy Schwarzman - 5
Jonathan Sehring - 20

From these two I've gotten another 80 points, bringing Behold the Turtle to 295 points. I've almost earned back my starting sum!

WOW am I way behind. Terribly sorry. Tell you what, if I miss any of the awards ceremonies or nominations (including ones I didn't have on the list of approved ceremonies) the other players should feel free to post the points for them, if you like. If you strongly feel they deserve consideration.

Nonetheless, here's the points for the EDA Award winners and nominees (5 points for nominations, 15 for win), the BAFTA nominees (20 points each), the Golden Globe winners (30 points each), and Academy Award nominations (20 points each).

Amy Adams - 50
Paul Thomas Anderson - 25
Patricia Arquette - 70
Steve Carell - 40
Benedict Cumberbatch - 40
Douglas Crisse - 40
Jeremy Dawson - 75
Laura Dern - 20
Alexandre Desplat - 65
Robert Duvall - 20
Ava DuVernay - 45
Paul Franklin - 40
Dan Futterman - 20
Jonathan Glazer - 20
Hoyte Van Hoytema - 25
Alejandro Innaritu - 180
Scarlett Johansson - 25
Angelina Jolie - 5
Michael Keaton - 90
Mica Levi - 20
Richard Linklater - 225
Emmanuel Lubezki - 60
Arnon Milchan - 5
Bennett Miller - 20
Julianne Moore - 95
Rosamund Pike - 45
Barney Pilling - 40
Eddie Redmayne - 75
Gary Roach - 20
Mark Ruffalo - 45
Teddy Schwarzman - 60
Jonathan Sehring - 50
Emma Stone - 65
Tilda Swinton - 45
Resse Witherspoon - 40

All told this brings my team a whopping 565 points, for a grand total of 860!

(also, I'd like to thank everyone for their patience with this. This game is clearly still a work in progress, so I'm open to all your input)
