Pretty much a masterpiece. Still sounds jarring today.

I really like its sound but the lyrics holds back my enjoyment. Feels like it's desperately trying to get a reaction out of you. Despite that, it's a pretty good album with a mesmerising sound to it. _________________

I honestly don't think there's another album that sounds quite like this. It's impeccably written, and the overarching theme/story is wrenching stuff. Gritty, frightening, and soul-crushing, The Downward Spiral is arguably among the the ten best, and most important albums of the last twenty-five years.
Track picks
4. March Of The Pigs
5. Closer
7. The Becoming
9. Big Man With A Gun
14. Hurt _________________ Inversion Verses

Haven't heard this one in a long time, but lately the only Trent Reznor project I still dig are his soundtrack collabs with Atticus Ross.

Wonderful album. At the moment I like The Fragile a little more due to it having more songs but this is still amazing. Reznor really put his heart into this album and it makes for a very emotional experience with incredible production. Some of the lyrics can be laughably bad at times and a couple songs aren't that great (I Do Not Want This, Big Man w/ Gun) but that doesn't take away from this incredible album.
