Fun fact for my list:

Yasujiro Ozu has the most films (5) followed by Ingmar Bergman, Alfred Hitchcock, Satyajit Ray, Akira Kurosawa, Billy Wilder and Elia Kazan with 4. Kenji Mizoguchi and Robert Bresson have 3 each, while Fellini, Resnais, Ford, Kubrick, Cukor, Kobayashi, Wajda, Bunuel, Clouzot, Renoir, Huston, Mackendrick and Donen all have 2. That leaves 39 other directors with a single film each.

Nice. My leaders are Wilder with 7, Kurosawa and Mizoguchi with 5, and Ozu and S. Ray with 4. After that there are several with 2 or 3 I imagine, but I haven't checked that out.

I should note that currently our #5-9 range is ridiculously close. Less than 10 points between them. Our #2 and #3 are also really close.

So, just a reminder that even if you can only compile a list of 10 or 15 films, it can make a big difference Smile

...Also... our 100-120 range has way too many good films in it Anxious 7 of which are quite high on my list. So I'm hoping some people manage to bump those.

It still stands that no one has picked the same #1 or #2 film. Which is remarkable considering the amount of lists I've received.

That's pretty intense. I'm sure it's gonna be full of quality. I also think it will be interesting if any Disney movies make the cut, and if so, which one(s). I had Sleeping Beauty on my first list but decided to cut it from the final one. Funny my 90s list was loaded with animated films even though I'd place a lot of the 50s ones ahead of them. I guess that just goes to show how much more I like the 50s than the 90s for film in general.

I'm totally game for a Seventh Seal win. It's kinda like Ennio Morricone's Oscar. He deserved to win more before but I'm glad he still got it. My guess is Seven Samurai (because it's the obvious guess), with my backup guess probably being Sunset Blvd (as I've seen a lot of love for it on these boards).

Here's another fun guess. The highest-rated film that I have not seen will be The Ballad of Narayama, at #72. I'm making this guess simply because it caught my eye as I was browsing Criterions at the mall today.

So how many hours away are we from this thing?

The deadline is in 1.5 hours, and I'll be posting the list in about 12 or 13 hours.

The list looks really solid right now. There's still about 15 films that aren't currently going to make the cut that I'm a bit sad about, but oh well Sad I always post the 5 runner-ups.

Hoping you guys like the list Mr. Green
