Yeah this is sort of the perfect description. The early stuff got a bit better with each album I think, they peaked here, El Camino was kind of alright but starting to move away, and they lost me completely with Turn Blue.

I still have fond memories of Vh1 promoting "Tighten Up" as a new video to watch and then being really excited when I went online and found their other videos. Pretty sure 13 year old Ben got in trouble out of context for watching 'Next Girl', though I was legitimately mostly there for the puppet that I thought was hilarious in the other version of "Tighten Up". You'd think 13 is prime "I found boobs online!" age, but I guess I've always been more of a dinosaur man. Dunno.

This is pretty good, at most, for me. The only Keys album I ever truly loved was Magic Potion. I remember that really blew me away when I 17-18ish.
