I go between preferring this to Let It Bleed and vica versa. I love the soulful vibe on this one. As shaydndepriest said, it's good a really bluesy American sound to it as well.

IIRC this album was recorded while they were all snorting cocain while renting a villa in France, and that really shines through.

My favourite track has always been Torn and Frayed.

Not easily digested due to its length, but well worth the effort. Surprisingly consistent for a double.
