Aged 12, I was intrigued by them for some reason and was offered the blue compilation. The first time I heard that mellotron intro (of course I didn't know about mellotrons at that age) for "Strawberry fields forever" was very similar to what Alice must have felt like going through the mirror (or similar to a first LSD experience): everything was the same/ nothing was the same. Ever again.

how did i discover? most of these were through the internet. a couple through friends.
Simkins had a cover on Hi-Fructose or something a few years back. got me back into the arts after years of pursuing other things... changed majors senior year in university thanks in large part to that man. and now i'm broke all the time >_> but the guy has been a huuuge inspiration. even took my alias here from him. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.
Discovered through a recommendation in a book called '1001 albums you should hear before you die' (recommendation was Emperor Tomato Ketchup). But it was really the excellent compilation Oscillons From The Anti-Sun that established them as my favourite artist. _________________ http://distranscontinuum.blogspot.co.uk/
