Also, does anyone agree with me in the statement that the Rolling Stones are amazing song-writers, but terrible album makers?

I'd go with the opposite: Rolling Stones are great album makers but poor songwriters (overall). If I were to read their lyrics on a page, I'd dismiss most of them; but when paired with the music they become amazing.
EDIT: We may have different definitions of what a songwriter is. When I hear songwriter, I think lyrics. I think you mean that they had great songs, but albums with a lot of filler. Either way, I think they have a handful or two of albums that have little filler.

Songwrite=a person who composes words or music or both... for me it means one that puts words to music well. Otherwise they are a poet.
I would agree they have a few albums that are solid, but most are lacking the cohesiveness I demand a good album to have, whereas their songs are amazing. For example, on this site their top 20 songs are some of the best songs ever written, imo. Their top 10 albums... couldn't say that about them.

It's tough. I voted 71-present because it has my two favorite albums by them, Some Girls and Sticky Fingers.

None of the above.
Skip the earliest albums which were mostly covers and the band had not yet found their unique sound.
Can easily few the last couple decades as well.
The best Stones era is '68-'74
