Link

City Girl (1930, F W Murnau).

Figured I'd share Anxious I'm the only person who has this on their list.

Hoping for a few more lists before the deadline. Just a quick notice that as of now even a list of 10 or 20 films could cause some major changes in our top 40. Every vote counts Mr. Green

Ok here's my list. Sorry to you Renoir fans for the lack of his films here. Couldn't find any to stream with subtitles, and very few are available via Netflix DVD. Oh well. Four Josef von Sternberg/Marlene Dietrich films, and I reckon Blonde Venus and Dishonored would've made five or six. But like Grand Illusion and La Chienne, I couldn't find them. Hopefully next time.

Anyway:

1. M
2. Stagecoach
3. City Lights
4. King Kong
5. It Happened One Night
6. Modern Times
7. The Adventures of Robin Hood
8. Angels with Dirty Faces
9. I am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang
10. Frankenstein
11. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
12. Gone with the Wind
13. Captain Blood
14. All Quiet on the Western Front
15. The Thin Man
16. Wuthering Heights
17. The Rules of the Game
18. Baby Face
19. Make Way for Tomorrow
20. The Scarlet Empress
21. The Informer
22. Lost Horizon
23. You Can't Take it with You
24. The Invisible Man
25. L'Atalante
26. Shanghai Express
27. Dodsworth
28. Bringing Up Baby
29. The Wizard of Oz
30. The Most Dangerous Game
31. The Public Enemy
32. The Blue Angel
33. Bride of Frankenstein
34. Little Caesar
35. Freaks
36. The 39 Steps
37. Fury
38. The Petrified Forest
39. Trouble in Paradise
40. The Roaring Twenties
41. The Libeled Lady
42. The Hurricane
43. The Lady Vanishes
44. Drums Along the Mohawk
45. Red Headed Woman
46. Morocco
47. A Christmas Carol
48. Werewolf of London
49. After the Thin Man
50. Scarface

Could've gone beyond 50 but I feel it would've been watered down.

I did not expect The Wizard of Oz to be outside the top 5 or 10, not to mention at 25! Whoa, crazy crazy.
