Fun fact: to this day, Andrea True is the only ACTUAL porn star to have a Top Ten hit. Nowadays, they all just LOOK like porn stars. But they're not. She was a REAL one. Lol

I can't remember Supergrass ever being 'uncool' (whatever that means). And the Boo Radleys were perfectly cool until they ended up disappearing up Britpop's arse - Giant Steps and Everything's Alright Forever are great records.

If you ask me the notion of 'cool' and 'uncool' is a little absurd. I mean what barometer are we using here - acts who are panned that you just happen to adore, artists whose output has aged badly, bands that went under the radar first time round (such as the Lo-Fideiky Allstars - nothing wrong with them at all as far as I'm concerned, especially How To Operate With A Blown Mind), or something different entirely? Case in point - my all-time absolute favourite album is hardly 'cool' in the accepted sense (early 70s sunshine pop which includes a cover of the Sesame Street theme), but to someone's who's a little out of step with the world it's the coolest thing since the invention of the portable fridge.

I don't know about that but Everything's Alright Forever is some good shit. I've never come across a shoegaze fan who didn't like it.

That's the reason I put uncool in quotes. What exactly does "cool" mean? That's why i explained about being younger and how what your peers and friends think is how we tend to define cool. Evidently, i hung out with a tough crowd. Lol. I was teased mercilessly for liking most of these acts. And also, i meant acts not beloved of hipsters. Or else i just wasnt aware that people like Supergrass and Boo Radleys were highly thought of. I guess i was just incorrect about that. People i knew then hated them. Lo Fidelity Allstars is near the top of my overall Top 100. I think highly of most of these. And some i dont, but enjoyed for other reasons besides being "good". I have absolutely no aversion to silly music. This explains 311 etc.

U got some great uncool ones in there. I love how u got Live, Dishwalla, Silverchair. Those are CLASSIC uncool bands!!! But Peter Gabriel was ALWAYS considered cool. Very beloved of hipsters, even today.
