I've been doing a bit of recording these past few weeks, just for something to do. I love building up layers of tracks with fairly basic instruments to create a dreamy cacophony, whilst retaining the basic melodies underneath. Would love to know what people think of this latest creation:
You know what, it works. Strange structure, but it's definitely cohesive. Tracks 3, 10, 15 and 20 my favs. Def something there. A 10-11 tracks album of songs like unstipdblip would be cool.
thanks, mate.. this is likely the only Stip Blip release (it's kind of a novelty tangent), but my next LP as Creighola has a lot more stuff like unstipblip, so I'm glad you dig that one.
I agree about the LaChapelle Spectrum art: that is absolutely brilliant. It's one of those ideas I wish I had first.
Hayden, great to hear more stuff is coming.
Cobbo, I dig this. I don't know that I'd call the layered textures "cacophony" (it's more dreamy/ethereal than anything), but it's a pleasant effect. Kind of has a Smiths gone shoegaze vibe to it. _________________ cReighOLa - thx ♥
eta: some guy from rome made this website dedicated to the history of dream pop, and an AMISH RAGE ep is apparently part of the dp's story.
i think i'm famous now, guys. i probably won't have time to post around here anymore, what with all the interviews and celebrity cocktails and yada yada yada. i might even meet thm and beyonce. things are looking up. _________________ cReighOLa - thx ♥
this is really good, mate. are you playing everything??
Except for the drums, which is a drum machine playing it, though I designed the drum patterns!
And thanks! Glad you like it _________________ "If I could just leave my body for a night.... FJSDKFJKAJFKFJKDSFDKSJF"
