Ok, that's probably cheating.

So... Unless I'm forgetting a live Rock/Jazz album I rank higher, then this:

Not Cheating. It says LIVE right on it... hehe. Unless of course you have to have a live Mahler recording instead of Karajan.

My favs:

Under A Blood Red Sky by U2

Jones Beach, New York August 25, 2000 by Pearl Jam

Live Phish Volume 4 by Phish

And here are my choices:

MTV Unplugged In New York by Nirvana
I hope unplugged counts as well.

Weld by Neil Young And Crazy Horse
contains the best half hour of live music ever: Love and Only Love, Rockin' In The Free World and Like A Hurricane

Kicking Television Live In Chicago by Wilco
Wilco should be seen live.

Live At Raji's by The Dream Syndicate
Only recently discovered and hope to see them live on 3 November in Leuven Belgium.

Tokyo Tapes by Scorpions
The sound mix is not fantastic but every song is great.

No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith by Motörhead
already an old love

And I'll have to check out that Phish live album Seth (and you and Afterhours keep on praising that Ninth of Mahler: I should also check this one out)

How could I forget this unplugged?!?!?!? haha. I kept thinking I DON'T like the from the muddy banks album of theirs and totally gapped this one. Probably a handful of others (Allman Brothers).

Also yes, Mahler 9 is his favorite and I like it, but probably am more particular to Mahler 1.

Mahler is just as important as Beethoven in the classical world.

Also, I don't really like much of what Eric Clapton normally does (no offense, I know he's like a demigod or something for some), but I do like his unplugged album as well. Maybe nostalgia/experience on my part? I like these versions of these songs way better for some reason.
