Horizonless by Loss

Excellent Doom Metal. It's a mandatory listen. Should be on some major publications' year-end lists, honestly.

^ I second that by a lot. Great album. Also love that live Dead album from Cornell.

A few favorites of mine from this year that haven't gotten much notoriety:

Balsams by Chuck Johnson

Appalling Ascension by The Ominous Circle

The Uncle Sold by Ed Dowie

No Handshake Blues by Irma Vep

We Are Trees by The Last Sighs Of The Wind

Starmourner by Ghost Bath

The following are who I think deserved more attention.

Windy City-Alison Krauss
Remnants-LeAnn Rimes
Something's Going On-Trace Adkins

God bless you and them always!!!

For me, it's Land of Talk's Life After Youth. This blissful dream pop record is lush and raw in all the right places. It's perfect.

If you like singer/songwriter stuff, I'd recommend this. It's my most listened to album this year, and I think I'm the only one who has it listed. Ethan Gruska was also the producer for Phoebe Bridgers record, "Stranger In The Alps" this year, which has a similar stillness to it's feel.

Saturation by Brockhampton. I know they have gotten quite a bit of attention this year, but seeing end of the year lists like Pitchfork's & Rolling Stone's not even include them is insane. Rolling Stone in particular putting Kesha, Khalid, Taylor Swift, & Sam Smith in the top 10 without mention of brockhampton on the whole list is hilarious. Both albums by them have been incredible this year and a third is coming out in a few days and I expect the consistency to continue on that project as well.

In my opinion 2017 belongs to Brockhampton musically, what they did this year in terms of quality & quantity was nothing short of amazing. If you haven't already, checkout the Saturation trilogy.
