The hype train continues to roll, however, this time I think there's some validity to the rumors and reason to be excited.

A few days ago, Danny Carey was interviewed and asked if we can expect the new Tool album in 2018 to which he replied with a confident yes. Someone asked Maynard on Twitter for further confirmation on Danny's claims:

Now, to many this may seem like a typical MJK response.

Tongue-in-cheek- check
Mysterious- check
Perhaps a small shut the fuck up to the fanbase- check.

But if you're familiar with Tool's writing process, Maynard can't write or record his share until Danny, Adam, and Justin have done theirs. With Danny saying the record will for sure be out in the year to come, and the band booked to headline Rock on the Range (usually reserved for bands with new material out) I think Maynard's on to something with his internet belch. I think he's saying his job is done. His meal is finished. Burp.

Call me a typical Tool conspiracy theorist, but this is starting to become reality. Regardless with a band like this, I'll wait as long as need be. Don't rush it (inb4 but it's been 11 years), make sure music that detailed is right.

"Had the honor of being the first outsider to hear new Tool music today!! Still just instrumentals but sounded epic, majestic, symphonic, brutal. beautiful, tribal, mysterious, deep, sexy and VERY Tool. Realy great. So excited to hear the record when it's finished."

Very exciting. After over a decade since their last album, to hear they still have mysterious and beautiful identity is wonderful.
