Great early stuff led by Peter Gabriel. After he left the group Genesis was never the same and the music just wasn't as good, IMHO. This album was the first in a trilogy of absolutely fantastic prog-rock. Selling England By The Pound and The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway followed this one. It's a shame that Mr. Gabriel left after the trilogy.

With this album, Genesis seemed to finally fuse their fanciful side with their grandiose side, and then they made it rock. This album is a genuine achievement.

Agree with previous about this being the first of a great three album run, right up there with the Kinks Village Green/Arthur/Lola

Beginning to end, there are very few albums that I've heard that compete with this one. A brilliantly Genesis sounding Genesis album. Foxtrot and Selling England are what come to mind when I think of the band. Watcher of the Skies is a genius and epic opener, Get Em Out By Friday is a quirky (imagine that from Gabriel lol), but musically engaging trip, and of course Supper's Ready, one of the great prog epics of all time. I love this album so much.
