I like this album a lot. It's one of Prince's best statements and has some very high highs however I've always felt it overstays its welcome a bit. Especially towards the end. I feel similar about Sign O' The Times. _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.
The title song is my favorite Prince song. That's not saying much though because generally I think most of his music is overblown medicrity. In this respect he was the perfect 1980s Superstar, the 1980s being the decade of overblown mediocrity. Along the lines of Madonna and Michael Jackson
Not really into the "commercial" Prince as much as the crazy progressive version that's less popular. Little Red Corvette is my favorite Prince song though. I really like the remix of Little Red Corvette on his Ultimate Prince album, which I listened to death and would be a great party album.
This is a great album. Lady Cab Driver is quite something and the live versions of D.M.S.R. that have been circulating shows how much energy Prince had. It's an album full of that.
