*Not sure if The Devil's Candy is allowed. It hit film festivals in 2015 but didn't get a proper release until March of 2017 and is on most horror buffs' 2017 year end lists. Same exact story for The Lure, give or take a month or two.

** Split is also in the category of being a 2016 film that almost nobody could have possibly seen until 2017, a la Ex Machina a couple years back.

The Devil's Candy looks fine, understandable.

As for The Lure (which I'm quite fond of it), it's pushing it, but I think we're good. It never had a wide release, so it's hard to judge. It had a European release in late 2015, and then hit American festivals in early 2016... it only came available on disc/online mid-2017 though. Good film, totally wack.

And Split's good too, that was an awkward release...

I'm not going to be suuuuppper picky with what's allowed/not allowed, just don't be stupid with your choices, etc... and it should all be good. Like, no Moonlight, Inception, etc... you guys get it. Unless something comes up that I specifically point out as not allowed, don't worry about your lists. If something like Raw comes up, I'm not going to be like 'NO'.

Quote:
Raw (it was released here in 2017)

All good.

And don't feel bad about changing your lists, etc... they won't be tallied for a couple weeks at least. Everyone has plenty of time for some catch-up.

A BLUNTLY WRITTEN REMINDER FOR ACTING CATAGORIES.

That's cool. I totally forgot about Raw. Inserting that into my rough draft... Saving my acting list for when (if?) I see enough of the later Oscar-bait films. Not much of what I've seen thus far has blown me away in the acting department (although there are some cool, memorable performances).

Then again, I'm wondering if I should sit this one out because you guys are naming stuff I haven't even heard of (it's been on off year for me personally when it comes to caring about movies - even my year long horror craze died down in October)

I do find it humorous that this year we get to have a three way battle between Logan, Lucky, and Logan Lucky to determine the best Logan and/or Lucky film of the year.

We could do that as a side poll, sure Laughing

I haven't seen Logan, but the other two are both solid 3.5/5's. Soderbergh's a beast, I think he already has 2 other films finished or something.

And thanks Desh, appreciate it Smile

I normally wouldn't have rushed into it as I'm not a big fan of the franchise as a whole but word of mouth overwhelmed me. It was so good. Best film in the series by a decent bit.
